چکیده
Background: Primary pituitary carcinoma is rarely reported in dogs and only few reports describe its malignancy. In veterinary literature, primary carcinomas correspond up to 2.4% 3.4% of intracranial neoplasms found information regarding biological behavior quite limited. humans, represent less than 1.0% all tumors the gland. The proposed classification for humans determines that tumor must have origin adenohypophyseal region disseminated metastasis by cerebrospinal fluid or systemically other organs be observed. dogs, a described carcinoma. goal this report was clinical, tomographic, histopathological immunohistochemistry features dog with adjacent invasion. Case: A 7-year-old female spayed Golden Retriever assessed general practice due progressive weight loss, muscular atrophy, lethargy, blindness, head pressing, hyporexia 21 days. Computed tomography (CT) showed cerebral parenchyma expansive extra-axial base formation, originating from sella turcica topography, measuring about 2.0 centimeter dorsally, displacing third ventricle, suggesting diagnosis neoplasia. hormones thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) total thyroxine (T4) as well stimulation ACTH test were unremarkable. After 7 days, neurological clinical signs progressed unfortunately patient died ten days later after hospitalization. necropsy exam revealed gland increased dimensions (2.5 x cm). Histopathological findings proliferation neoplasm invasion nervous metastatic foci between brain lobes. Immunohistochemistry positive keratin neuron-specific enolase negative epithelial membrane antigen, S-100 protein, glial fibrillary acidic estrogen receptor, CD34, chromogranin, somatostatin, ACTH. supported Discussion: There lack prevalence little known pathological features. shorter survival time (30 onset signs) non-hormonally functional presented acute local effect an expanding mass, also others reports. It observed focus neoplasia hemispheres, leading us conclude Adjacent infiltration noticed presence synoptic lobes non-delimited nodular area neoplastic implantation optic nerve compromised cells. data here receptor 10% Ki-67 index no history pituitary-dependent hyperadrenocorticism (PDH). Pituitary adenocarcinomas are thought more often non-secretors. CT reveled mass 2.5 cm vertical height macrotumor although there description literature. animal had fast deterioration his condition quickly came death, poor tumor. Keywords: adrenocorticotropic hormone, case report, dog, tumors.
